2025: The Year in Review

2025 Year in Review

The end of the year approaches. A time for reflection, when you slow down and take a good hard look at everything that you have planned and worked towards, to pat yourself on the back for your accomplishments and interrogate the areas in which you could improve.

2025 has been a year of growth and change for AIM Business School. We introduced new areas of study for incoming and existing students, expanded our range of Graduate Certificate programs, and evolved the structure of our Graduate Certificates to a 3+1 unit model.

These changes are reflections of our commitment to providing the most relevant education for working professionals, so let’s take a closer look at this work and then give a sneak peek at our plans for 2026.

Introducing New Areas of Study

Over the course of the year, we introduced four new units of study that are available as electives for our MBA. These four units are:

  • Business Analytics for Innovation and Transformation
  • Business Analytics for Strategic Decision-Making
  • Organisational Change Management
  • Supply Chain Design and Innovation

The development of these units is a direct reflection of our commitment to building the most relevant business school for working professionals in Australia. With a greater variety of units, we ensure that diverse learning goals can be met and unique career paths can more directly supported.

AIM Business School is dedicated to evolving alongside the business environment, which is why we will continue to develop new and innovative study areas for our community.

Expanding our Range of Graduate Certificates

We additionally launched four new Graduate Certificates in 2025:

  • Graduate Certificate in Change Management
  • Graduate Certificate in Innovation
  • Graduate Certificate in Sustainability (Environmental, Social and Governance)
  • Graduate Certificate in Technology and Cybersecurity

The addition of these new qualifications, which are available for fully online study, enables our goal of supporting the learning journeys of Australian professionals from diverse roles and industries, providing them with education opportunities matched to their career goals.

These new Graduate Certificates bring extra versatility to our MBA Pathway, which enables students to gain two additional qualifications as they work towards attaining their Master of Business Administration. By combining a Graduate Certificate in your chosen field of expertise with the Graduate Diploma in Management and MBA, your education at AIM Business School will provide an unparalleled depth and breadth of knowledge, preparing you for both immediate and sustained success.

3 Core + 1 Elective Unit Model

AIM Business School unveiled an update to our original range of Graduate Certificates that went live from our May intake: all our specialised Graduate Certificates adopted a 3 Core + 1 Elective Unit model.

The 3+1 model means that every student within each qualification will complete the same three Core Units, representing the essential learning of that course, and then choose one Elective Unit to complete from a selection of two to six options. This new structure empowers students to personally customise their educational journey, ensuring they acquire the most relevant and impactful knowledge for their professional development.

Here is the full list of the Graduate Certificates affected by this change:

  • Graduate Certificate in Business
  • Graduate Certificate in Business Transformation
  • Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship
  • Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Leadership
  • Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Strategy
  • Graduate Certificate in Marketing Management
  • Graduate Certificate in Operational Excellence
  • Graduate Certificate in Project Management

We are also seeking to introduce this same model to the rest of our Graduate Certificate programs to give them the same level of flexibility.

Congratulations to the Class of 2025

Congratulations to the Class of 2025! We are very proud of the 525 graduates that have joined the AIM Business School alumni this year. Their academic success here is a vital step in their overall professional journeys, and we are very excited to see where they go to next.

Our graduation ceremony was again held at Doltone House in Sydney, a beautiful venue that is worthy of this important night. We are very grateful to all our graduates and their families who attended and helped make it into such a triumphant celebration of hard work and perseverance. Seeing all our students cross the threshold of graduation is a true joy that makes our work worthwhile, so thank you all for being there.

Looking Ahead to 2026

The final task for 2025 is to prepare for the year ahead. Our focus next year is on optimisation: how can we better fulfill our promise to be the most relevant, accessible, and valuable education provider for working professionals?

We will be taking a close look at every element of our school, from how we articulate our programs in market to the nitty gritty details of our online learning platform. As our CEO Martin Mercer likes to encourage, greatness is achieved with the dedication to improve by just 1% every day, and that is what we will be doing in 2026.

By encouraging creativity, rewarding innovation, and nurturing a culture of drive and compassion, the future is there to be seized.

Thank you for being a part of our journey in 2025 and we are excited to see you next year.
